Holidays are very important to each and every one of us
It’s the time of the year we look forward to, where we can relax and enjoy ourselves. It is the fruit of a labour of some 50 weeks or longer, all for that precious two weeks. For some holidaymakers that is not the case. We do not expect to experience hotel food poisoning, cruise illness or holiday sickness.
Every year holidaymakers return home feeling cheated, suffering with either hotel or holiday illnesses or injuries, many realising that these issues can affect their daily lives, some indefinitely.
On the following pages within the Action section, we have compiled for your benefit additional, detailed information to assist and help you with information that may assist in preventing you from becoming ill or injured abroad, or to understand the basics of any illness upon your return to the UK.
We ask that you read and use the information contained in the following pages. We hope this advice will not be necessary, but we ask that you refer to it when you are in difficulty. Do not think ‘it won’t happen to me’!
Prevention is the only approach to travellers’ health and safety that makes sense.
We would ask you to note the Legal Notice at the bottom of this page.

Self-treatment is a realistic option for travellers who may not have access to reliable health care while travelling.
